Lose Change Update

March 31st, 2014 at 06:29 pm

3/31/14

Balance: $1.46
Deposit: $6.35
Balance: $7.81

Okay...so I have decided to ramp up my Lose Change Challenge (remember, all monies are applied to my mortgage princpal as of 12/31/14) to include $1.00 bills. This is going to be tough as I rarely have the ability to just sock a dollar bill away...but, I am going to really try.

All said, I don't know much, but as of right now, I will never pay interest on $7.81 again...lolololololololololol......Jamie

Adding $1 bills will definitely increase the amount you will send in at the end of the year!

When I started adding $1's to my coin jar it really made a difference in how fast I could save up.

I operate entirely in cash with my grocery, fun and gas money. One year I put all my $1 bills away in an envelope. It was hard at first but at the end of the year I'd put away over $2,000.

I also put away all my coin change. I've done that for years and twice a year I change them in at the bank for cash to go into my emergency fund. It is usually between $500 and $700 dollars a year. Amazing to think of all that change.

When I was younger I used to save up $5 bills I come across, $5 is our lowest bill here is Australia. It used to add up to a nice sum amount of money. It was my Christmas money then.
