I am 37 years old. I am just over 5'10". That said, I feel I am about twenty pounds over weight. I would like to be at around 190 lbs but stand at 210.
I have been given a book on juicing. My thoughts are portion control, no sugars or processed flours, reduced carbs and not eating past 7:00 p.m.
I love ALL fruits and veggies. My question is, has anyone got substantial experience with juicing or other suggestions.
Off Topic but Very Important

However, juicing can sure be healthy and a great way to absorb all the nutrients those foods have to offer.

Nevertheless, I can most definitely identify about feeling over-weight. That's what I am working on too, trying to get in better shape.

20 lb is not alot, the best advice I have is simply to walk moderately, or briskly, or any way you want, many days a week. It positively affects your body in lots of ways including bone strength, psychological, and metabolic. Costs VERY VERY little.

DH has a JuiceMan II which he has had for about ten years. He uses it sporadically (coinciding with his healthy living status - with him its an all or nothing thing) Clean up is sometimes a mess, so he makes two or three days worth of juice. He uses a vacuum-sealer type thing on a wine bottle to keep it "fresh". It is best to buy the fruits/veggies you want in bulk from Sam's or Costco or Aldi's because you will truck thru them. The staples here are celery/apples/carrot. We have found that sometimes it is cheaper to buy the already made drinks which have more exotic combos like mangos and pomegranet (spelling?). Good luck! It is certainly a way to stay healthy.

don't drink your calories (water, unsweet iced tea, water w/lemon), carbs early in the day, brown rice instead of white, pack your own lunch.
I got a three-fer with packing my own lunch: saved money, keeps the food moving through the refeer, and I've lost 5 lb through the nightmare holiday season.

Its not gourmet, but a mix of canned beans (1 14 oz can chickpea, black, kidney, etc) mixed with 1 6 oz can of tuna - snack portion is one third of the mix. Even though I add olive oil and lemon, its not gourmet, but that snack definitely keeps my head out of the refrigerator at night.
